Cathy Johnson, Michelle Crabbe and Paul Dewey for their months of hard work put into getting MKC accredited for Clubmark.Report on the Manchester Korfball Tourno

No sliding around in a wet and boggy field this year as fine conditions allowed for a fine tournament. The sun shone down on the fields of Ashton on Mersey Rugby Club and sun cream was the order of the day instead of cagoules, much to the relief of the organisers and our camping guests!
Report on the Castle Tourno

The Vengabus and Donna the Micra took the short trip down the M6 to Eloise’s old stomping ground, for the Castle tourno in June. Following the advice of Fred the Weatherman, the passengers were armed with pack-a-macs and welly boots aplenty; little did they know that blazing sunshine lay in wait!
So as the saying goes, the sun shines on the righteous and Edd’s burnt forehead was evidence of how much the sun did indeed shine – ha ha ha!
Clubmark Accreditation
Manchester Korfball Club is proud to announce that we received Clubmark accreditation in July 2009. This will be recognised at the next annual Trafford Sports Awards in 2010. Clubmark was introduced by Sport England in 2002 to help recognise and value the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for their members, particularly for young participants. This is a fantastic achievement for our club and our thanks go to Cathy, Paul & Michelle for all their hard work.

We're looking for volunteers to help out at some more Man City sports sessions for kids this summer. A few of you have helped out in the past and it's a good fun and an exciting way to involve more people, especially young people, into Korf.

It took a good few days before everyone’s heads and bellies stopped hurting, after a weekend of partying, korfing and good times at the SDO tournament in Holland. Man those guys know how to put on a good show! By far the best overseas tourno we’ve been to :)
Warriors 2 gain promotion to CEKL 2
Warriors 2 took part in a play-off last weekend that saw them win promotion into CEKL 2. According to EKA rules they will have to fill the gap left in the local league so they will be working hard recruiting over the summer to ensure they field a Warriors 3 team in the NW league.Man 1 End of Season Team Manager's Report 2009
Last Updated on Saturday, 01 August 2009 10:13 Written by Kris Johnson
The 2008-2009 season saw the CEKL split into two divisions of seven, with Manchester 1 playing in CEKL Division 1. We finished a respectable 5th, in what was a tough season. There were notable wins away to Nottingham (despite the late arrivial of 3 of our players!) and home to Castle. The team suffered from a lack of consistency with 19 different players turning out over the course of the season, however thanks go to the people who helped out, and due to the structure of play being coached at training these people didn’t look out of place when playing for Manchester 1. There was a great spirit within the team and we all know what we need to do next season - score more goals!More Articles...
