Bengals vs. Wasps Match Report

An injury crisis hit both Man City 2 and Bengals and this meant double-trouble.  Three players from Bengals doubling up to play an exhausting match against Man Uni 2 before the Bengals own fixture against Man Uni Wasps.  Man 2 returned the favour with Jenny Whitehead and John Schofield stepped into Bengals along with the MKC's dynamos Anna Flanders and Lucy McConnell playing half a game each.  Thanks Jenny, John, Lucy and Anna!  Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Bengals Karl, Helen S. and Diana.

The game started in a controlled fashion for Bengals with a lead slowly being ground out.  The Wasps had some pretty handy players, especially their girls who sunk a few goals, but Bengals were the stronger side.  The referee announced 10 seconds left of the first-half in which Schofield used to steady himself and shoot from long distance to add another goal a second before the whistle.  The second half was equally controlled with Flanders now on for McConnell.  A good spread of goals across the team and strong supportive play from all led to a victory for Bengals.  Final score Man Uni Wasps 6, Bengals 9.
