Manchester 2 vs. Bengals Match Report

With Manchester City 2 losing two games on the trot to Lancaster, Bengals were hoping for a collapse of team morale in their opponents. Also, Bengals swept aside Lancaster earlier in the season and so were given hope that this match would be a close one. As games go this one was always going to be a biggy, a Battle Royale and our toughest, biggest game yet. Win this one and Bengals would go second in the league with a game in hand over the top team Lancaster! Win the game in hand and Bengals would storm to the top of the table!
The game started well for Bengals with a goal in the first 1 minute of the game. Could this really be happening? Would the mighty Bengals be about to pull off one of the greatest victories the korfballing world had ever seen... Oh pants! Man City came hit back strongly and quickly took the lead. Bengals battled hard and played well, but entered the half-time break 3 or 4 goals behind. Not an insurmountable challenge to come back from, but certainly would require guts, nerve, sweat and a little bit of luck...
Unfortunately, the years of experience of Man 2 showed in the second half when they rapidly increased their lead to comfortably win the match. None-the-less, there were some impressive performances out there with Becky pulling off a debut hat-trick and scoring a magic 3 goals, Craig scoring his debut goal for Bengals and Helen-the-Power-Powell keeping up her record of scoring in every game she's played in. Everyone battled hard, but fate had other plans. Final result, Manchester City 2 14, Bengals 5.
